Before
The reading drifts long before the battery dies
Your phone estimates how much charge is left. After months of top-ups that never hit empty or full, that estimate drifts: the percentage falls in chunks, the phone shuts off with charge still showing, and the health reading can look worse than the battery really is.
Some wear is real too. Capacity drops a bit with every full charge cycle, so the first job is telling a wrong reading apart from a worn battery.
During
One check, then a plan made for your phone
Open the battery check and select iPhone or Android. RecoverBattery checks the battery and lays out a recalibration plan: the charge and run-down steps in the order your device needs.
The point of those steps is a clean start. Once the phone has seen a true full and a true empty again, it can gauge its own battery instead of guessing.
After
A reading you can trust, a day you can plan
With the plan done, the percentage falls smoothly and the health reading shows the battery you really have. Keep it that way: avoid heat, and leave your phone's own optimized charging turned on.
What a plan cannot do is bring back worn cells. If the reading stays low after recalibration, a new battery is the real fix, and you will know it is worth paying for.
Signs the plan fits, signs to stop
The check is a good next step when
- The percentage drops in big jumps.
- The phone shuts down with charge still showing.
- The health reading changed overnight, after an update.
Go to a repair shop first when
- The back or the screen is lifting: the battery may be swelling.
- The phone gets hot while it sits idle.
- Settings shows a battery service message.
